About Spirit of Small Business

Quote:

In healthy communities of the future, the old spirit of competition will give way to the power of collaboration. Society is too complex

for individuals to go it alone anymore. As the generations establish common ground, they will learn to appreciate one another for their disparate talents.

Creating Strategic Alliances That Work For You

Have you ever heard the question, "Who do you know that knows........?" What exactly does that mean to you personally?  How do you use this in your business AND in your life?  I believe that creating strategic alliances is the spice needed for your business and life to flow smoothly.  Perhaps you think you need to separate your business and your life, yet they are one movie, with you as the main character.  This means that if one area is a little off, both areas will experience challenge.

So, what is a strategic alliance?  In my world, this is a partnership of sorts created with another individual/company which brings forth mutual results.  Strategically placed in the marketplace, each of you stands to benefit from the promotion of the product and/or service.  Take a moment to think about your business and your life.  What are the areas of struggle?  Where are you drained and frustrated?  Now take an additional moment to think about who you know in your immediate circle of influence who might have an answer to your challenge.  On the flip side, please take a moment to think of the many benefits of your product or service.  Make a list and then think of who would benefit (or has benefited ) from what you do?  Who are your "Raving Fans" as Ken Blanchard would ask?

Gathering this information is critical to selecting alliances that work for you.  It may seem like a bit of work and with your already full life, it may be a bit of a challenge to complete the process.  What I can tell you is that once the initial thought process is implemented into your routine, you will see the matches on a regular basis  -- a routine which happens naturally.

Strategic Alliances bring with them amazing rewards....from increased profits to claiming time to spend with your family.  You don't need to have hundreds of them -- just a few will do.  Start today to get more out of life by taking advantage of all the opportunities given to you.

Coaching Challenge

As we near the end of another year, take the opportunity to answer the following questions:

  • What are your areas of struggle?

  • Where are you drained and frustrated?

Now take an additional moment to think about who you know in your immediate circle of influence who might have an answer to your challenge.  How will you contact there individuals during the coming month to set strategic alliances for the coming year?  Focus on one or two initially and build the muscle gradually.  If you force it, it will be work and you might drop the ball.  If you make it fun, you will indeed move forward to create amazing opportunities!!  Keep me in the loop as this takes on momentum.  I love to hear your success stories!!
